When ESPN2 picked up the first game of the Red Sox season and moved it to Sunday night on April 4, it made MLB tweak the schedule a bit. If they didn't change schedule the Red Sox and Yankees would have had two straight days off, Monday and Tuesday.
Here is the new schedule for the season opener, home opener and Round 1 of BOS/NYY:
Game 1: Sunday, April 4 at 8 p.m.
Game 2: Tuesday, April 6 at 7:10 p.m.
Game 3: Wednesday, April 7, 7:10 p.m.
The Sox now have Thursday, April 8 off and start their first road trip the next day in Kansas City.
