Book Review of One Fans Story, If This Hat Could Talk

There are certainly perks to being friends with Jared Carrabis, like doing something I love anyways (making a layout for his Twitter page) and being rewarded with a signed copy of his first (of many I'm sure) book, One Fans Story, If This Hat Could Talk. I will be honest, when I first picked it up I wondered what he could possibly have to say for 334 pages. All fans have stories sure, but Jareds story is more than just that. When he says he was born in to it, he literally was on a cold April day that kicked off the 1989 season. If This Hat Could Talk chronicles how a boy fell in love with the game of baseball and a man made it his passion. You can literally feel his excitement, his anticipation and even his disappointment jump off the pages as you read his words. I imagine him sitting there, his thoughts going a hundred miles an hour while his fingers race to keep up, clicking the keys to immortalize all he has to say. He has been privileged to witness some great Red Sox moments and share them with the rest of the Nation in this book along with the intimate details of his relationship with his dad and their love of their team. After reading his story I'm surprised he could put it all into just 334 pages. We Red Sox fans always say we're born in to it. As for Jared, I believe he was born out of it. This is a must read for anyone who considers themselves a fan of the game and the Boston Red Sox.

I'm one of the many introduced in the book as an influential member of Jared's journey through twenty years of Soxism. He's a great writer and has too much passion for the game for this to be his last book. Look at his articles posted all over the internet or follow him on twitter to stay connected.
