Manny Ramirez has been suspended by MLB for 50 games for a positive drug test. First reported by the Los Angeles Times then released by MLB. ESPN's T.J. Quinn and Mark Fainaru-Wada are reporting that the drug used by Ramirez is actually human chorionic gonadotropin, a women's fertility drug often used by steroid users to restart their body's testosterone production after a steroid cycle. It is similar to Clomid, the drug Barry Bonds, Jason Giambi and others used as clients of BALCO. Yahoo! Sports said earlier that Ramirez had tested positive for a different kind of performance enhancer: A source close to Ramirez who spoke on condition of anonymity told Yahoo! that the substance Ramirez took is supposed to boost sex drive, but is not Viagra.
Manny states..."He gave me a medication, not a steroid, which he thought was okay to give me," Ramirez said in the release. "Unfortunately, the medication was banned under our drug policy. Under the policy that mistake is now my responsibility. I have been advised not to say anything more for now. I do want to say one other thing; I've taken and passed about 15 drug tests over the past five seasons.
"I want to apologize to [owner] Mr. [Frank] McCourt, Mrs. McCourt, [manager] Mr. [Joe] Torre, my teammates, the Dodger organization, and to the Dodger fans. LA is a special place to me and I know everybody is disappointed. So am I. I'm sorry about this whole situation."

My take on the whole thing... I really want to believe that Manny wouldn't do such a thing. As he stated above. He has tested positive many times when being tested. Why would he "cheat" now. He is already in the 500 HR club. He is a walk in to the Baseball Hall of Fame. It doesn't make sense. With all the reports that put above I really have to say I am a believer in Manny!
