Update on Nick Green

Looks like Nick Green won't be back by Friday as he hoped. Green has been sidelined since last week when left the team in KC to head back to Boston to see doctors on his "dead" leg. Come to find out Nick is having problems with a nerve issue in his back.
This afternoon Nick Green took rollers from infielding coach Tim Bogar. Green said it just didn't feel right. He went on to say....
“I’m not as happy as I wanted to be, put it that way,” Green said. “It’s frustrating. It’s just a tough situation all the way around. I’m just frustrated. It’s getting better. Just not as good as I hope.”
With Green's unimproved status it kind of puts the Red Sox in a bind as far as back up infielders. The Sox have Jed Lowrie and Chris Woodward as their ony two utility infielders. Green said he does not think any kind of injection is a possibility to help him return more quickly. He was hoping to take some batting practice today as well, but he felt dispirited after his work in the field.
“It doesn’t hurt,” Green said. “It’s just not cooperating. That’s the only way I can say it.”
