So the "blogging" era begins here at NHRSN. I have attempted it in the past and just felt I wasn't doing that great of a job. I figured I would really give it a shot this time and make a consistant effort at that. So here is my 1st real effort...
The 2009 season is finally here and upon us. One of the biggest days of the year for me had to be postponed due to the wonderful April New England weather. To wait another 24 hrs for Opening Day after what seemed the longest winter that I can remember, sucked. It all was well worth it when The Yankees lost their season opener to the Baltimore Orioles down in Camden Yards last night 10-5. I couldn't stop watching the clock while I was at work. Counting down the seconds to be able to punch out and run home to watch all the Opening Day pre game ceremonies and the much anticipated 1st game against what a lot of people are predicting to be the AL East champs again this year. Josh Beckett looked very dominant in his first outing which was an awesome sight striking out 10. The reigning MVP hit his 1st round tripper in the bottom of the 1st inning to show his honor from last year was no fluke. I was glad to see Varitek hit his 1st HR in the 6th inning, it gave some re-assurance that last year maybe was just a horrible season at the plate and he is back. So who really could ask for more this 2009 Opening Day. 1) Yankees lost their opener. 2) Red Sox win their season home opener and finally 3) The Tampa Bay Rays lose their first game of the season.
I am really excited to see how the season plays out. I have been reading a lot of articles with baseball analysis/writers predicting who will place where, who will win the pennants and who will be crowned champions when it is all said and done. The Sox to me seem to be a lot stronger this year then they were last year. Their middle relief is got to be by far the best in AL. The key for the Red Sox this year is to veer as far away from the injuries. The Sox last year had a lot of hurdles to conquer through out the season. The big 2 being all the injuries of key players and the Manny "saga". So the journey begins Red Sox Nation as most of you I will be breathing, bleeding, eating, and sleeping Red Sox!

I so agree Brad with the Sox looking great going into this season and will be a team other teams are going to fear going up against including the NY Yanks and the Saint Petersburg (Where they play) Rays with the way things are starting. The Yankees have to many injured and old players who have existing injuries and the Rays are to cocky and sure of them selves. The Sox are united, strong, talented, and just a Good wholesome American blooded built on talent not conceit,
team!!!
